GEL batteries offer reliable cold cranking (starting power) and maximum power supply with superior cycling. The battery will work through the most extreme conditions and are exceptionally clean and safe to handle. The battery acid is fixed using a thixotropic gel, making the Gel battery completely leak proof & allowing the battery to be inclined to an angle of 180 degree. Gel batteries use gas recombination technology, ensuring neither gas nor acid vapours are able to escape. This makes Gel batteries completely maintenance free.

A slow self-discharge rate, plus its ability of recovery after deep discharge, makes a Gel battery ideally suited for seasonal or infrequent use. Where the batteries are in an area where fumes or leakage are going to cause problems, a Gel deep cycle battery is the better choice. The GEL model range offer best deep cycle durability and overall longer life.

The use of high purity materials and lead calcium grids ensures that these batteries have particularly low self discharge and therefore will not go flat during long periods without charge. Supplied with M8 drilled, flat copper terminals ensuring best possible connection contact and eliminating the need for battery terminals.

Sealed (VRLA) Gel batterry: Here the electrolyte is immobilized as gel. Gel batteries in general have a longer service life and better cycle capacity than AGM batteries.

VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid): means the batteries are sealed, and gas will escape through the safety valves only in case of overcharging or cell failure. VRLA batteries have exceptional leak resistance, and can be used in any position. VRLA batteries are maintenance free for life.

Low Self-discharge: Because of the use of lead calcium grids and high purity materials, Victron VRLA batteries can be stored during long periods of time without recharge. The rate of self-discharge is less than 2% per month at 20°C. The self discharge doubles for every increase in temperature with 10°C. Victron VRLA batteries can therefore be stored up to a year without recharging, if kept under cool conditions.

Deep Discharge Recovery: Victron VRLA batteries have exceptional discharge recovery, even after deep or prolonged discharge.
